I'll be honest, I wasn't entirely sold on the game until the Imps in the Forest Dungeon. You have no idea how many of my buttons those monstergirls push, holy hell.

This was by far the most irritating part of the older versions of the game. It really felt like Conquest was going backwards in comparison to the original game. Original game, anyone can breed with anyone. Then Conquest comes around and suddenly that's not a thing.

While I can see where you're coming from, the purpose of unused areas is to make it easier to introduce said quests and characters you're asking for. Adding too many characters and quests into a small handful of areas makes it feel like the developer isn't very invested in the world they're trying to create.

I mean, if you weren't a potato you would have seen the Patreon post back in March of this year where it was explained that the development of 0.1.3 was going well, and that the creator sees Patreon as a place to offload important stuff, instead of posting one or two screen shots every now and then for sneak peaks at what's going on. The creator also said in that same post that unlike with the Prologue that is essentially done, they want Chapter 1 to be released in its entirety in one big update for folks to enjoy instead of being drip fed updates whenever the work is done. While this ultimately means we're seeing a longer break between actual game updates, this also means we're not going to have the same issue the Prologue did, where we got to a good part in the story and then suddenly there's no more game to play for six+ months while waiting for the next update. Komi is still making large swaths of the game entirely by themselves as far as I'm aware; its not like other developers who might have several people working on stuff.

Just wanted to say I appreciate what you are doing.

As far as I'm aware, Overwhored is an abandoned project. The first game and its sequel. Beyond that, Cypress got injured around two months ago (he's a veteran with a spinal injury according to his Twitter) so all of his games have essentially stopped, not just Overwhored.

I'm still personally going to disagree with you. I've had a Fairy take one too many hits from Assassinate to have much of any sort of faith in evasion. Obviously I just kept getting hit with some pretty shitty RNG, but it happened enough that the extra 3 MAG a fairy offered just wasn't worth it, particularly since early game combat in this game can be fairly brutal before you've accumulated enough gear, stats, and combat oriented slaves.

Anyone else encounter this, and if so how did they fix it? I got her back from Ramont (she chose me over him) she returned to my mansion and I had that scene with her. But then at some point during the Civil War Questline (first noticed she was set to "unavailable" right before I captured Aire) she became unavailable with a red border around her slot. What gives?

I almost never use fairies because of their massively reduced health. Bandit assassins eat fairy mages for breakfast. An extra 3 MAT isn't worth the chance of your mage having to recover from a severe wound.

I'm inclined to agree with you; its really annoying deciding to play a Seraph, Demon, or Dragonkin and then not be able to get anyone pregnant unless your partner is your specific race. And the built in "mod editor" for the game is pretty bad. I've been looking around in my free time trying to figure out how to mod it, but no luck so far.

Yea, this really threw me off too. I'm used to some sort of indication of there being a portal to a new map, and I likely would have uninstalled the game out of frustration if I hadn't stumbled upon your post.

Thanks for this. I thought I'd had updated version of both mods, but apparently I downloaded right before one of them got an update posted. (For now) no crash to desktop, and now I also have the debug window back. Yay!

Anyone know why the game's error console no longer shows up? I'm getting a crash right before a starting slave's event (the one where they make a mess and you can help them clean it up, if I recall). I hit New Day and instead of the event triggering as I move into the next day the game just crashes to desktop. I can't figure out what's causing this because the game apparently no longer launches with the error console, I guess. Any ideas?

I am legitimately only commenting on here because I absolutely love Maeve. We all need that sort of good looking batshit crazy in our life sometimes.

I see. So it was actually because I legit didn't have to do anything except load the game normally. Messing around the the mod just ended up making the scripts not play nice any more.

Okay, so the problem is kind of gone. Basically, as long as I don't disable and then re-enable Aric's from in game, the errors wont pop up. Since I was doing a fresh installation each time I deleted the main game folder and redownloaded it, I figured that I had to go ahead and re-enable the mod from the mod menu, close the game, and then open it again. Turns out though, I don't have to go through that effort. I noticed that the error wasn't showing up the first time I opened the game (before I disabled then re-enabled the mod). And when I was still under the assumption the mod wasn't working until I had turned it off then back on, the errors would pop up as soon as I opened the game after messing with the mod from within the game menu. But I discovered that the mod is actually working after a "fresh install". I load a save and the cmd box comes up saying Aric's Expansion v0.97, and the library entries about breeding are there (which is the easiest way for me to find out if your tweaks are working). And best of all, after acquiring Emily on a brand new save I can go ahead and distribute her attribute points-- which is why these errors were annoying me to begin with.

Either way, I am now going to never touch the mod menu from within the game ever again. Because whatever is causing this, it only happens after I've turned Aric's off and then back on.

I actually feel kind of dumb, as it never occurred to me to just use my Drive, like I do everything else. Here's the link to a folder on my Drive that contains both your base game folder and my Strive AppData folder:

Apologies for the delay. Work has been hell with the holidays, so I've not been doing much outside work and sleep. See, I had thought that the issue was because of an old script as well, but I grabbed your latest version from your link, and have both your folder (S4PGameFolderRMAM097) and Aric's folder (Strive v5.25 with AricsExpansion v0.9.7) completely separated. And in terms of the mod folder, normal Aric's I renamed to AricsExpansionbackup to specifically be used as a backup just in case, and I renamed it before adding your version of AricsExpansion to the mods folder. When it first came up with that error and I couldn't figure out where it was coming from, I even deleted my mod folder and started over with a fresh one, but the error still persisted. Deleting the entire mod folder and both versions of the game also did absolutely nothing. I'm at a loss.

Okay, I've never used Mega Drop before, and apparently I can't upload entire folders; do I need to upload every individual file?

Okay, so this is the error I'm getting when I first boot up the game using your tweaks. Line 125 specifically reads: if i in ['description', 'details']: I'm assuming there's something in there that shouldn't be there (or something that should be there but is not) and that's what's throwing this error. Any idea what I should change this line to in order to get it to go away? Whatever this is, its preventing me from distributing my attribute points (specifically, the little + symbol next to the attribute I want to put points in is missing) and this seems to be the only thing it effects. Its been pretty annoying, so I'll wait for your reply.

EDIT: Noticed that someone above me had this same error; my issue is that downloading the most recent patch has no effect, nor did redownloading the entire main installation, which should already have been patched anyway.

EDIT2: Fresh install of mods folder did absolutely jack, while we're at it. So, I dunno. I'm stumped on this one.

I'm not exactly a fan of this suggestion, as this still feels like a pretty hefty nerf to the Breeder play through. Seems kind of unfair that a specific PC play through would have to jump through so many hoops just to actually be, y'know, a Breeder. Some other way to spend mana might be nice, especially at endgame, but this suggestion isn't a proper solution. Right now, I've essentially quit playing the game until 0.9.6 releases, as the Breeder is the only play though I haven't done yet. I was waiting on Farms to be fully implemented before giving Breeder a go, and then I delayed even more when I heard that 0.9.5 would have a whole bunch of reworked impregnation/races/interactions and stuff. But then the new changes also inadvertently nerfed Breeder almost into the ground, so now I'm just chilling till 0.9.6.

Honestly, I simply use the milk to supplement my mansion's food income and instead use semen and piss as my primary sources of gold income. This was a fairly decent way to earn gold, especially if you had a stud breeding your cow pretty much every night. Your farmhands would automatically extract leftover cum that had been deposited into your cows, in addition to whatever cum the cow herself provided. Unfortunately 0.9.5 kind of nerfed the crap out of the Breeder playthrough, so I've only barely dabbled with the farm so far on my other playthroughs. I'm not sure yet what the optimal gold making strategy will be overall.

Ah, good to know. Breeder is the only play through I haven't done yet, and with all of the changes with the Farm and stuff I was thinking about finally getting around to running one, but then I was starting to think maybe it wasn't going to be a good idea, especially since I really like almost everything else the additions give to the game.

So I want to clarify: In terms of the Hybrid part of the add-on, if my PC isn't an Uncommon race, the PC can't breed any of those races? The only exception would be if PC was a Seraph, then PC can breed other Seraphs and no other Uncommon races, right? As a Seraph PC I can't have PC breed with say, a fairy, and come up with either a fairy offspring or a Seraph offspring, am I hearing that correctly? That sounds kind of depressing for a Breeder play through, being locked out of an entire category the PC can breed with...

Thanks for the reply, although your edit made me feel kind of dumb. I had found the fix in a previous post before mine (the line of code being "snailsbreeding" instead of "snailbreeding"), but when I made the changes myself it still wouldn't work and I couldn't figure out why. I completely forgot that I had to deactivate and reactivate Aric's if I expected the changes in code to be recognized by the game and not throw those errors.

The primary culprit seems to be this node.cpp thing. Problem is, I have no idea where its located and doing a quick search didn't turn it up either. Did I somehow botch the install and I'm missing something?

Okay, anyone have a bit of an idea what's going on here? It looks like you're supposed to be able to choose how you want stuff to be extracted with, and the container to use, but instead the drop down windows list hairstyles, of all things. I have a few canisters and pressure pumps I had bought, and couldn't figure out why my farm hands weren't using them. Took another look at this page and that was when I realized that something about this menu didn't seem quite right. Suggestions please?

THANK YOU for this. I'd been browsing posts in an effort to find a fix, but with the sheer number of posts I'd have to wade through it would have taken me a while to stumble upon that particular post. Unfortunately while I am familiar enough with code to tinker with code already provided to me, I'm nowhere near skilled enough to try and fix the issue myself, and since I hadn't seen anyone else talking about it I figured that people just made do with the issue. Limiting the stress due to lactation is what I went for to make the game stay true to being realistic; I just really hated always having slave stress levels in the red despite maxed mansion luxury, sleeping in personal rooms, and selecting all the extra luxury options under a slave's page. I also can stop burning Mass Sedation in an effort to keep them alive while pregnant, as of course I chose Breeder background. Thanks again.

(1 edit)

I really want to enjoy the mod, but the ridiculous lactating issue has caused me to not bother with it. The Drain spell linked on the front page doesn't actually do much of anything useful. The Statistics page on the lactating slave still has them listed as having milk and/or holding too much milk, and I'm really getting tired of struggling more with reducing stress/resting for health on lactating slaves than any other aspect of the game. Managing stress during pregnancy is one thing, managing stress because the women in this mod are some sort of biological super-soldiers and never ever stop producing milk even weeks or months after not being pregnant is tiring.
